*full view* I'm really pleased with how this piece turned out. I nearly finished it yesterday when my Photoshop decided to be evil and delete all my work. So, this is version two.
Although, of course, like all art it is open to anyone's interpretation, the way I thought of this peice when I was creating it is fairly specific. The room is, obviously, a metaphor for your heart, the dark liquid is sorrow, thicker and more cloying that water. The girl is love. As love, she is fighting back, no matter how engulfed in sorrow the heart is, which explain her fiercely joyful expression. This represents a peculiar type of sorrow; it was important to me to try and embody the song, which is one of my favorites. It is not full out sorrow, but has a quietly optimistic note in it; like Pandora's box: no matter how many horrors are here, there is always hope.
